And here's why I can help you create the garden of your dreams.

• I've been a garden writer for more than 20 years. Currently I'm the Associated Press' gardening columnist, and you'll find my columns in dozens of newspapers across the U.S., in Canada, and even as far away as Borneo and Japan. Before that, I spent 15 years writing Newsday's Garden Detective column.
• I'm a Cornell-trained master gardener with a deep understanding of soil science, pests & diseases, and a strong appreciation of gardening and how  plants improve mood, health and real estate values(!). 
• I  practice Integrated Pest Management, value xeriscape -- or  drought-tolerant -- and native plants and employ companion planting whenever possible to best care for people, property and the environment.
• And what's gardening without food?  I'm a pro at creating delicious and nutritious recipes to help you get the most from what you grow.
